Mozilla Firefox is an open source web browser descended from the Mozilla Application Suite, managed by the Mozilla Corporation. Firefox had 19.73% of the recorded usage share of web browsers as of August 2008, making it the second-most popular browser in current use worldwide, after Internet Explorer.

Microsoft spent over 100 million dollars (USD) a year[1] in the late 1990s, with over 1000 people working on IE by 1999.
